The Three Horseshoes is the heraldic symbol of the worshipful company of ferries, a fellowship since 1356, Chartered in 1674. The assumption is that the design employed only Three Shoes, as the otherwise being replaced or worked on by the farrier.

The Three Horseshoes is believed to have been built in the early C19 and the first landlord we have found recorded is William Stearn in 1850. It was part of William Long's Harston Estate which was split up and sold in 1893. It was purchased by Mr Beales, a brewer and corn merchant, for £285.

Today the pub, now owned by Daylesford, has returned to its roots, becoming The Three Horseshoes in a nod to its history. Following a "light" refurbishment, the pub which has six bedrooms, a large garden with an outdoor bar on the banks of the Windrush and views across the Cotswold hills is back in business.
